A small town garden in need of a revamp to match the interior modernisation of the house. The layout presented  a challenging angular shape, mismatching fencing and a concrete path along the house walls.

The client’s brief was achieved by delivering a low maintenance, simple design with attractive shrubs, grasses and herbaceous perennials in bold colours, a small circular lawn and large curved borders to counterbalance the irregular lines of the site, a space for a table and chairs and a utility area on the windowless side of the house.

Existing trees and shrubs the client was keen to keep (acer, cordyline, campsis, callistemon, peony tree and clematis) were either kept in situ or moved to fit the new scheme.

The fence was partly replaced and painted in black to become the perfect foil to the new planting.
